Why Part 3A?

Steps in the Part 3A planning process.

Given that the proposal is within an environmentally sensitive coastal area of state significance and includes more than 80 new boat berths it is classified as a Major Project under the State Environmental Planning Policy (Major Projects) 2005 and is therefore automatically assessable under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.

This means the project will be considered by the NSW Department of Planning through a streamlined and integrated development assessment and approvals regime that includes referral to and consideration by Eurobodalla Shire Council.
